Students Spend Break Painting Mural

January 20, 2017

Roncalli Catholic High School students sophomore Alexis Aken, junior Torri Long and senior Katie Yetter spent their Christmas break painting a mural in the RCHS atrium. The three art students designed the image during the first semester and came into school throughout their holiday break to paint the mural when the school was empty, so that the mural would be a surprise. On Wednesday, January 4, when fellow students returned, the mural was unveiled. The painting depicts the Roncalli Lion, a symbol of the Crimson Pride, along with the three values RCHS students embrace during and after their time at Roncalli: Wisdom, Courage and Faith.

Roncalli is one of 70 schools in the Archdiocese of Omaha committed to awakening greatness in its students
