Archdiocese of Omaha announces Metro Elementary Educator of the Year 2020
Congratulations, Jennifer Heithoff!
Mrs. Heithoff has been named by the Archdiocese of Omaha as 2020 Elementary Educator of the Year for Omaha Metro area Catholic schools.
She has worked at Christ the King Catholic School for 28 years.
Currently serving as Reading Specialist for the past fifteen years, Mrs. Heithoff has also taught fifth grade, third grade and fourth grade at Christ the King.
“My faith-filled parents, siblings, family and my own Catholic education all prepared me so I could make an impact where God planted me,” she has said about her career.
“As a reading specialist, I’m dedicated to helping students become better readers. I strive to prepare the soil, so they become confident, independent learners. I seek to connect their strengths and interests to what they’re learning and remind them that God will use those strengths. I prepare my students to be ready to follow God’s will in their lives and make a difference.”
Mrs. Heithoff has been recognized within the school as a strong support and resource to fellow teachers and parents, serving on many committees. And perhaps best of all, she is more than happy to share her faith with all with whom she works.
“I tell students or anyone who comes to me what has always been comforting for me to hear—you’re not alone, you can tackle anything with prayer, and I’m here to help!”
Our office is grateful she chose the vocation of teaching.

If you’d like to learn more about Mrs. Heithoff and/or help her celebrate, please join us for this year’s Archbishop’s Dinner for Education on September 24 – Virtual edition!
Heithoff is part of a larger group of educators the Archdiocese of Omaha honors each year. The annual event helps us recognize and reward the impact of our local educators, celebrate Catholic education and raise important scholarship dollars for tuition assistance.
