Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Gross Catholic High School, a co-educational high school serving 400 students in Bellevue, NE, is on a fast track to identify and secure a Vice President of Advancement.

The Vice President of Institutional Advancement oversees Development, Communications, and Admissions for Gross Catholic High School and has direct oversight for growing revenue generating activity. She or he will manage the advancement team in leading a comprehensive program that attracts maximum gift support to meet the needs of the operating budget, capital expenditures, and the endowment. This is a full time, 12-month position reporting directly to the President. The Vice President of Advancement is a key member of the administrative leadership team and ensures best practices are in place that effectively and efficiently advance the mission, values, and strategic goals of the school.

Work collaboratively with the President and Executive Assistant to maximize School leadership’s time and attention on external relations activities
Build and maintain an annual plan and timetable to include:
Maintenance of an outreach calendar for all external relations
Major Gift and Annual Giving activity growth
Expansion of the President’s Circle through strategic outreach
Establishment of constituency-based segmentation design
Direct mail development, writing, and execution
Alumni Relations
Reunion planning, execution, and fundraising (individual and class giving)
Alumni Relations communications and engagement activities
Establish measuring, monitoring, and reporting systems on fundraising and constituent relations for the Advancement Committee and Board of Directors
Identify, train, and maintain relationships with internal and external volunteers to assist in external relations programming as needed
Work collaboratively with the Director of Admissions for current parent outreach
Work collaboratively with Gross Catholic’s faculty and staff to grow a culture of philanthropy


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Intimate knowledge of the philanthropic process
A proven track record of successful fundraising, prospect research, and stewardship
Facility in database management and social media
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Experience soliciting foundation/government grants; corporate giving
Highly organized, strategic thinker
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Team builder with leadership presence
Commitment a service-oriented culture
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
Fair, fun, and compassionate executive who embraces collaboration while leading with missionary zeal

Education and Experience
Education and Experience
3 to 5 years of development experience in an educational setting
1 to 2 years of direct management experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Independent school fundraising experience
Capital campaign development and execution
Familiarity with prospect management software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
