Principal Duties and Responsibilities
St. Bernard is seeking a qualified teacher candidate to join our specials teaching team as a part-time librarian for the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will communicate with classroom and specials teachers to provide library services to all students from Monday through Wednesday during the school day.St. Bernard is a small, tight-knit single parish community centrally located in Omaha that places emphasis on faith, family, and education. The average class size is 16 students per teacher.
Weekly built-in common plan time with the specials teaching team during normal school hours

Not required to be Catholic
The successful candidate will facilitate student success and growth in academic areas, as well as social-emotional, and especially spiritual areas by living the St. Bernard mission of making Christ present in all we say and do. Those considered must promote and teach the values of the Catholic faith. Practicing Catholic candidates are not required. Endorsement in library sciences or equivalent endorsement required. Teaching certification required.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe candidate will be comfortable leading one class per week per grade, as well as completing inventory, ordering, cataloging, and retiring books. Preferred candidates should be skilled in technology and be comfortable with low-level troubleshooting of IT issues.
Education and Experience
- Minimum bachelor's degree from an accreditated college or university with an endorsement or equivalent endorsement in library sciences
- Current or expected Nebraska Teaching Certificate
- Willingness to complete a background check and Safe Environment training before start date.
