Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop, manage, and implement annual individualized student plans
• Schedule and coordinate individualized student plan meetings with team members
• Apply evidence-based Co-Teaching models, instructional strategies, and interventions to support
implementation of individualized student plans
• Collect data for on-going progress monitoring and effectively use data to support team problemsolving
and to adapt instructional strategies and interventions as needed
• Collaborate and communicate daily with peers, related services providers, parents, and
community partners to support each student’s learning goals
• Manage a safe and effective learning environment
• Extra-curricular stipend duties possible with this position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of fellow special educators and job coaches
• Mastery of developing, coordinating and delivering evidence-based and differentiated core
instruction and interventions to students with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental
disabilities and autism
• Experience executing instruction both in the school and within the community
• Ability to effectively analyze student needs and problem solve leveraging available resources
• Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, teachers,
administrators and community partners
• Subject to a background check
• Must have a valid driver’s license

Education and Experience
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s in Special Education
• Master’s in Education or related field preferred but not required
• Co-Teaching Experience
• Must hold a valid Special Education license in the state of Nebraska
