Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting teachers with daily activities. Support student learning by facilitating educational activities directly with students in the classroom or on an individual basis. Supervising students in the classroom, cafeteria and playground.Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities-Work cooperatively with the lead teacher to implement lessons and activities
-Effectively observes assigned work hours - maintaining a pattern of prompt and regular attendance
-Guide and direct work of students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning
-Assist teacher in implementing classroom procedures and routines
-Ensure students follow school and class rules
-Effectively able to supervise and support students in the classroom, collaboration area, lunchroom, and during recess
-Assist teacher in preparing necessary materials for lessons
-Maintains a cooperative working relationship with Principal, lead classroom teacher, staff, and public
-Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality
-Performs other duties as assigned by Principal or lead teacher
-Communicates clearly and positively with students and all stakeholders.
Education and Experience
-High school degree or equivalent; Associate degree in education or a related field preferred.
-Experience as a paraprofessional, teaching assistant, or similar position preferred.
-Experience working with elementary-aged students.
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-Safe Environment Certified
