Get to Know. . . Mrs. Julie Perrault

This is her fourth year as principal at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic School in Omaha, after spending 24 years teaching. Of her classroom experience, Mrs. Perrault shared that she and her middle school students would look forward to random dance parties – a tradition she now continues periodically with the team in the SSM school office.

“When I entered the world of administration, I worried about not having ‘my own students’ with whom I could connect on a daily basis. Instead, God blessed me with almost 700 students who genuinely warm my heart and inspire me each and every day. There is absolutely no greater gift!”

St. Stephen the Martyr is located near 168th & Q Streets in Omaha and serves grades preschool through eighth grade. The school offers three classes per grade level beginning in kindergarten and two classes for each level of early childhood, with an average student to staff ratio of 15:1.

That means having strong leadership in place is important. Mrs. Perrault does not take her role lightly (however, see the photo evidence below that she (and Fr. Dave Belt also like to have fun).

“I feel so blessed to get to work with an amazing, faith-filled community of staff and parents who are passionate and committed to Catholic education. It is a privilege to work in a Catholic school because I am able to relate everything to God. What is a world without faith and hope especially during troubling times? When there are simply no answers, there is always God.”

When not at work, she spends time with her two sons and enjoys reading and painting when she can find the time.

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope. Jeremiah 29:11
