Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will plan instruction, teach, differentiate instruction, motivate, inspire and assess students in middle school mathematics.

The candidate will promote a high quality, personalized education program that reflects the mission and values of St. Stephen the Martyr School.


Organizes classroom systems/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning

Uses a variety of instructional techniques and materials, which are appropriate to meet the needs of all students and understands the value of differentiating instruction

Collaborates with special education staff for the purpose of attaining goals designated in students’ accommodation plans

Participates and is a contributing member of the St. Stephen the Martyr middle school team

Actively participates in professional development opportunities and collaborates with teaching staff and peers for the purposes of improving the quality of student outcomes and aligning curriculum in mathematics

Conducts regular assessment of student performance and maintains record-keeping through the schools technology based grading system

Provides students and their families with regular and timely information and communication on classroom activities and student progress; finds ways to involve parents/guardian in their students’ education

Perform other related duties as required and assigned


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Develops and presents lessons that demonstrate planning and preparation and are consistent with the course of study and the Archdiocese/Nebraska Content Standards for Mathematics

Assesses students’ mathematical skills for the purposes of refining classroom activities and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding students’ progress, expectations and goals

Understands the importance of building positive relationships with students, families, and staff

Education and Experience
Candidates must have Nebraska Certification or provisional status with endorsement in middle school math
