Principal Duties and Responsibilities

*Incorporate all of the standards established by the Archdiocese of Omaha and Nebraska Department of Education.

*Demonstrate a desire to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom.

*Employ a variety of teaching models to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom.

*Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve instructional effectiveness.

*Explore new methods, techniques, and materials.

*Plan and organize instruction on a daily basis.

*Prepare motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, instructional strategies, and student abilities.

*Maintain student records accurately, neatly, and keep them current.

*Encourage an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.

*Utilize a variety of assessments and use data in the classroom to develop lessons and instructional activities as needed.

*Implement practices that ensure Kindergarten readiness at St. Cecilia.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*Takes an active role in faculty meetings and in-service programs.

*Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and improve as a teacher.

*Participate in the development and improvement of the school curriculum.

*Continue to update knowledge of the content area(s) taught.

*Engage in goal setting and review process with assigned administrator.

*Attend and participate in departmental, faculty, and Archdiocesan meetings.

*Exhibits the purpose, mission, and philosophy of St. Cecilia Cathedral School.

*Gives witness to the religious dimension through example and attitude.

*Welcomes all to the community with a spirit of openness and acceptance.

*Integrates Catholic attitudes and values into subjects and school life.

*Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner.

Education and Experience
*Teacher must hold a Nebraska valid teaching license and be certified in elementary education.

*Start date is August 1, 2022.

*Safe Environment and background check.
