Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesJoin a wonderful Catholic community with a family-like atmosphere by becoming our middle school math teacher!
-The teacher will work daily in a Catholic faith-filled teaching environment to form and develop students.
-Demonstrate a desire to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom.
-Employ a variety of teaching models to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom.
-Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that align with school-wide values and policies.
-Prepare motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, instructional strategies, and student abilities.
-Encourage an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.
-Use a variety of rigorous formative and summative assessments to evaluate individual academic progress and adjust instructional plans to meet the needs of students.
-Integrate social-emotional learning within the classroom environment through teaching and classroom management.
-Create a learning environment that is motivating and age-appropriate.
-Seek to actively know students’ strengths and weaknesses and respond promptly and with care to parent concerns.
-Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
-Maintain an accurate and organized system for monitoring student grades and records. Meet reporting deadlines and requirements and follow school-wide procedures for reporting grades.
-Prepare for conferences and provide written documentation on student progress.
-Maintain substitute plans and engage substitutes in advance when needed.
-Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Demonstrates a willingness to learn, grow, and improve as a teacher.
-Prefer experience with Fountas and Pinnell reading assessment.
-Prefer experience in small group instruction as well as instructional routines.
-Continues to update knowledge of the content area(s) taught.
-Engages in goal setting and review process with the administrator.
-Attends and participates in departmental, faculty, and Archdiocesan meetings.
-Maintain a positive attitude and approach.
-Support colleagues in and out of the classroom.
-Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner.
-Assist with projects and school-wide initiatives.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education from an Accredited college or university.
A valid Nebraska teaching certificate or provisional Nebraska teaching certificate.
A Middle School or 7-12 endorsement in Mathematics.
Completion of a background check and Safe Environment Training.
