Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The St. Pius X / St. Leo school community is currently accepting applications for the role of the Major Gift Director. The role of the Major Gifts Director is to identify and cultivate relationships with donors to secure major monetary gifts and fundraising in of major gift and capital campaigns, SPSL tuition assistance, endowments, estate giving, and other school initiatives.

Furthermore, the role of the Major Gifts Director will be to:

-Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift donor prospects and foundations for significant contributions towards tuition assistance, faculty and staff salary, curriculum, classroom technology and other defined initiatives.

-Develop and maintain ongoing strategies for qualifying new donor prospects within and outside the school community and engage with new donor prospects through events, research, and community networking.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Major Gifts Director will be tasked with the cultivation and stewardship of existing donors and expansion of the existing donor base to increase overall retention and giving levels. Also, the position requires the maintenance of accurate and timely records, acknowledgements and contact reports of all interaction with donors in the school’s donor database. The ability to work independently and collaboratively with the school’s leadership and development and finance teams are vital. Experience with marketing tools and experience using office technology is expected.

Education and Experience
Experience in development and fundraising with a bachelor's degree is required with a Master’s degree preferred. Experience with fundraising in an educational setting is preferred but also not required. Experience in marketing, campaign development and execution is also preferred.
