Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Community Engagement Director will have overall responsibility for marketing and student recruiting and retention in the Omaha Catholic School Consortium Schools.

Responsible for marketing, recruiting and retention, community engagement and event management.

1. Marketing 30%
a. Build the profile of the Consortium and each Consortium school.
b. Leverage traditional and digital channels to grow the profile and community awareness of the Consortium and each Consortium school.
c. Connect marketing with recruiting by leveraging technology to connect with prospective families.
d. Manage the Consortium’s social media presence to include working with the schools to create content.
e. Develop and implement digital and print campaigns targeted to increase preschool, prekindergarten and kindergarten enrollment.
2. Recruiting and Retention (50%)
a. Develop a commanding knowledge of the current enrollment and open capacity of each school.
b. Develop a commanding knowledge of the demographics of the Consortium schools.
c. Develop a specific plan for citywide growth of the Dual Language Academy enrollment.
d. Work closely with the principals in each school to coordinate recruiting and retention activities.
e. Coordinate activities with the Latino Enrollment Coordinator to optimize recruiting of Latino students.
f. Organize recruiting events focused on enrollment growth.
g. Assist the Consortium Board with raising the profile of the Consortium schools in the local community.
h. Develop and implement an overall enrollment communication plan encompassing items a-g above.
i. Track departing students to gain awareness of reasons for departure.
j. Assist the Consortium development staff with events intended to both drive enrollment and to solicit funds from current and potential donors.
3. Community Engagement (10%)
a. Develop and manage strategy for connecting and partnering with local businesses and corporations, neighborhood agencies, social service organizations and area parishes to garner support for student and family socio-emotional and financial needs.
b. Leverage these connections and partnerships to address specific needs in our Consortium schools.
c. Maintain an updated list of partners working within and on behalf of the Consortium schools and the network as a whole.
d. Work with the Advancement Director to connect with political entities and governmental agencies on behalf of the Consortium.
e. Support and organize service days for supporting our schools and for our schools to provide support for the community.
f. Facilitate school adoption programs and other opportunities for corporations and small businesses to sponsor schools with in-kind or monetary donations.
g. Cultivate relationships with community leaders within the Consortium school neighborhoods.
4. Event Management (10%)
a. Assist with the overall strategy and ideation, development, planning and execution of logistics for events.
b. Build Consortium brand awareness via connecting members of the community, including current and prospective family members, business leaders and donors in various events focused on the mission and purpose of the Consortium schools.
c. Assist with the logistics of various events hosted by the Consortium including but not limited to recruitment events, open houses, teacher appreciation events, tours of the schools for prospective families, tours of the schools and special events for donors and local businesses we are seeking as business partners
d. Assist with donor and community engagement events associated with fundraising initiatives and campaigns
e. Ensures all event logistics are managed from idea conception, scheduling, invitations and marketing, reservation management, location set-up and take-down, catering and day-of logistics as well as follow-up.
f. Work with the Consortium Board of Directors to develop an annual plan for enrollment, engagement and events.
5. Additional duties as assigned.

2. Excellent written communications skills.
3. Strong knowledge of social media platforms.
4. Ability to connect with families from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
5. Ability to work in a matrixed environment with no line authority.
6. Able to define, implement and follow up on new programs.
7. Commitment to Omaha Catholic School Consortium’s mission.
8. Spanish language skills a plus.

Education and Experience
Bacehelors degree in related field or commensurate experience.
