Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The Kindergarten through 3rd grade resource teacher position is a resource teacher that supports student learning in the Kindergarten through 3rd grade classrooms. The resource teacher position provides curriculum support to students by working with classroom teachers, principal and support staff in a collaborative role. Additionally, the position supports classroom teachers through the S.A.T. process, benchmarking and evaluation.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of elementary education curriculum, ability to effectively deliver curriculum support through small group lessons and co-taught classroom. Ideal candidates will have previous working experience with phonics, phonemic awareness, English language arts and math curriculum and intervention techniques utilized in early elementary grades (e.g. Wilson Fundations [Phonics], Heggerty Phonemic Awareness, etc.). Additionally, the ability to learn and implement new curriculum and intervention techniques as needed.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate in elementary education, special education, english as a special language or other related field is required. Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment Training (current or ability to complete prior to beginning position) is required. Previous working experience teaching in an urban, Catholic school working with a diverse student body strongly desired, but is not required.
