Principal Duties and Responsibilities
St. Margaret Mary is seeking extended care workers for various positions in the 2023-24 school year. Our Extended Care workers will help supervise from 1-75 students daily (ratio is 1 employee per 15 students). Student supervision and safety is the main responsibilities. Other duties can include organization and management of students as they enter and exit the program daily, setting up activities or games, distribution of snack, supervision before and after school, common area and hallway monitoring, and general homework support. Duties include keeping appropriate records and communicating with parents as they drop off and pick up their children. Hours could vary from 7-28 hours per week depending on school and position needs.Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesSome knowledge of child development or education preferred. Detail oriented--accuracy needed for organization within the allowable play spaces. Ability to make safety decisions quickly. Willingness to take direction from other staff members and administration. Team player--may be asked to shift to support other teachers/needs as determined by the administration and extended care coordinator.
Education and Experience
High school diploma required, some college preferred. Education courses or experience is helpful, but not required. Must be Safe Environment trained before employment begins. Extended Care applicants over the age of 19 are preferred, and there will be DHHS online training requirements as well (paid by the employer). Must complete a DHHS background check including fingerprinting and Central Registry check.
