Reports to: PrincipalPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities
The STEM teacher will plan, teach and assess student performance in STEM classes for students in Preschool through 4th grade. The STEM teacher will be responsible for Integrated STEM curriculum and programming that meets the Archdiocese of Omaha and Next Generation Science standards and as well as providing assistance with other technology needs.The STEM teacher provides instruction as a specialist (Science/Technology) and works with teachers to support best instructional practices using data, analysis of school-wide trends in instruction and to make recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of need. Candidates should have familiarity with and/or certification with PLTW or willingness to be trained/certified. Program was built using Next Generation Science standards, CSTA & ISTE, Archdiocesan math and ELA standards.
A technology background in tools such as Google for Education, ipads/chromebooks, knowledge of programming tools for students, 3D printing, microbits, VEX robotics - 123 & Go is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities-Experience with STEM instructional strategies preferred but not required
-Experience with SCIENCE instruction in primary grades
-Demonstrates a willingness to learn, grow, and improve as a teacher through professional development, mentorship, and administrative guidance
-Work collaboratively with other teachers
Education and Experience
-Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education
-NE Teaching Certificate (or a provisional license)
-Safe Environment Certified
