Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Mercy High School, an all-girls Catholic high school founded by the Sisters of Mercy, is seeking an assistant principal for the 2024-2025 academic year. Ideal candidates will hold or be able to attain Nebraska Secondary School Administration certification for grades 7-12.Mercy is a mission-driven organization with a diverse student population focused on academic excellence and the inspiration of young girls to become confident Women of Mercy who embody faith, knowledge, and compassionate service.
This individual will assist the principal in promoting the charisms of the Sisters of Mercy and in implementing the Mercy High School mission in the daily operation of the school community. This includes monitoring all student disciplinary and attendance issues, overseeing all extracurricular activities, and assisting with coordinating day-to-day and annual activities, while supporting faculty and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDesired Skills:
• Superb written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Strong rapport with students, faculty, staff, and parents
• Attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills
• Prior work and comfort with a student information system
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google suite
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Committed to the mission of Mercy High School and able to articulate it to all stakeholders
• Master’s Degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university and holds a Nebraska School Administrative Certificate with a 7-12 endorsement
• Experience working with a diverse student population at the secondary level is preferred.
