Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesSts. Peter and Paul Catholic School is looking for a qualified candidate to support our Family Enrichment Program based upon the National Center for Families Learning Family Literacy Program. This program is designed to empower Sts. Peter and Paul families through the coordination of four main components: Adult Education (e.g. English Language Classes and GED prep), Children’s continued Education during the school day, Parent & Child Time (PACT), and Parent Time in which parents deepen their understanding of how to support their children’s education. We are seeking a candidate to plan and facilitate Parent Time as well as assist during Adult Education time (i.e. paraeducator).
The Family Enrichment Parent Facilitator reports directly to the Family Enrichment Coordinator and the Family Enrichment Administrative Team.
This position is responsible for:
-Facilitation of Parent Time (2 hours/week) with additional time needed to plan for these sessions.
-Support of the Administrative Team in reaching out to community partners (e.g. contracting coordinating with local partners to give presentations based upon parent interest)
-Supporting Parent Education Time (i.e. paraeducator for ESL/GED classes)
-Miscellaneous tasks to support the program including but not limited to the following: assistance with Attendance Taking, Shopping for the program (e.g. snacks for parents and children), light cleaning of learning environment, proctoring tests, etc.
The Family Enrichment Parent Facilitator will work closely with the Family Enrichment Coordinator and the administrative team to develop programming that meets the needs of the Family Enrichment Program.
Part-time position (16 hours per week), Parent Time & Parent Education take place Monday-Thursday 3:00-5:15pm with other hours for planning and program support (flexible).
Pay ranges depending on experience and qualifications ($16.00-$22.00/hour).
RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong Interpersonal Communication skills
Basic Technology Skills (use of Apple computer, basic typing and word processing skills, email, assisting others with utilizing Apple Devices).
Education and Experience
Extensive demonstrated work experience with facilitation of adult groups
Teaching and/or relevant experience in education
Familiarity with Catholic schools
Experience working with a diverse community inclusive of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds
Kind, flexible, convivial, innovative
Ability to thrive in an ever-changing, fast-paced, collaborative environment
