Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is seeking qualified applicants for a middle school Social Studies teacher who will:
-Work daily in a Catholic faith-filled teaching environment to form and develop students.
-Set high classroom expectations in all areas.
-Develop and implement daily 6th grade through 8th-grade lesson plans as part of a long-term scope and sequence aligned to Archdiocese Social Studies Curriculum
-Use a variety of rigorous formative and summative assessments to evaluate individual academic progress and adjust instructional plans to meet the needs of students.
-Encourage an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.
-Set and reinforce clear expectations and routines that align with school-wide values and policies.
-Integrate social-emotional learning within the classroom environment through teaching and classroom management.
-Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
-Maintain an accurate and organized system for monitoring student grades and records. Meet reporting deadlines and requirements and follow school-wide procedures for reporting grades.
-Prepare for conferences and provide written documentation on student progress.
-Maintain substitute plans and engage substitutes in advance when needed.
-Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
-Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and improve as a teacher.
-Continue to update knowledge of content area(s) taught.
-Engage in goal setting and review process with the administrator.
-Attend and participate in departmental, faculty, and Archdiocesan meetings.
-Assist with projects and school-wide initiatives.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Middle School Certification preferred, with an endorsement in Social Studies
-NE Teaching Certificate

Education and Experience
-Middle School teaching experience preferred
-Must possess a Nebraska Teaching Certificate.
-Safe Environment and Background Check needed before the start date.
