Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Bernard is seeking a highly qualified teacher candidate to join our primary-level teaching team. We are a small, tight-knit single parish community centrally located in Omaha that places emphasis on faith, family, and education.

The successful candidate will facilitate student success and growth in academic areas, as well as social-emotional, and spiritual areas. Candidates should have excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills. They will also be expected to collaborate with a team of elementary teachers to determine curriculum and encourage current best practices in instruction. The ability and willingness to communicate with and participate in the community is essential. Candidates proficient in technology-use are preferred but not required. Those considered must promote and teach the values of the Catholic faith. Practicing Catholic candidates preferred but not required.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-St. Bernard utilizes the following programs: STAR, Fountas and Pinnell, Lexia, IXL, and GoGuardian.
-St. Bernard is one-to-one with Chromebooks, and we utilize Google Suite for Education.

Education and Experience
-Minimum requirement of a Bachelors degree with an endorsement in elementary education
-Valid Nebraska teaching certificate
-Completion of Safe Environment training including a background check before the first day of school
