A Catholic Schools Week Message from our Superintendent

Dear Friends,

Catholic Schools Week is a time to recognize the impact a faith-based education has on the lives of our students and their families.  The 70 catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese provide an environment where the rich traditions of the Catholic faith are integrated into the academic offerings and woven into the very cultural fabric of the school.   Our schools create communities that encourage and nurture prayer, and provide safe, welcoming, and supportive environments for children.  The blessing of Catholic schools would not be possible without the deepest level of commitment from our pastors, parishioners, parents, staffs and broader communities.

For those of you who send your student(s) to one of our schools, thank you for entrusting us to partner with you in the faith formation and academic development of your child(ren).
For those of you who support us with your time, treasure, and prayers, we are deeply indebted with gratitude for your passion for Catholic schools.
For those of you who know someone who might benefit from our schools, even for preschool aged students, please urge them to visit one of our schools and explore tuition assistance opportunities.

In a world filled with challenges, Catholic schools provide an opportunity for students to live out their faith, serving God and one another.  What a wonderful blessing this is to our communities.  Catholic education is truly an investment in the future!

Sincerely In Christ,

Vickie Kauffold

Despite the pandemic, the annual tradition for 8th graders to join in celebrating Mass together will still happen – virtually! On February 4, at St. Cecilia Cathedral, eighth graders at that school will attend live while other students join the live event feed from their respective schools. Each school submitted a video showcasing their eighth grade class that will also be played as part of the special event. Both Omaha Metro and rural schools will participate, and our office looks forward to this each school year as a symbol of the united community that we are.

Happy Catholic Schools Week!!
